Samsung Omnia i900 Black and White Gallery

Say hello to my little friend, the sexy quad band HSDPA 7.2mps Samsung Omni i900 Smartphone. This Windows Mobile PocketPC 6.1 powered handset sports a 3.2 inch screen (240×400 pixels) and an optical mouse similar to whats built on the Samsung I780.  The Omnia i900 pushes the bar further with its 5 mega pixel auto focus camera, with face detection and auto panorama shot capabilities.  On the storage front , the phone has 8gb and 16gb versions and also adds a microSD slot.  Critics are quick to point out that this is simply an iphone clone.  Well call it what you will and yes the dimensions are eerily similar to the iphone but Samsung has at least brought something new to the table.

Motorola V8 RAZR 2 Gold Luxury Edition Unboxing

Introducing the blingiest pimpest version of the Motorola V8, the RAZR2 Gold Luxury Edition. This phone is trimmed with 18 and 24 karat gold accents,  a black metal finish, etched sides and a smooth to the touch snakeskin back. Phone comes with a H680 bluetooth headset also trimmed with 18 karat gold that matches up well with the handset. We have always been a fan of the Motorola V8 line yet I wonder if this incarnation was necessary.  It’s definetly a sharp looking device albeit a bit tacky.  The real playas out there might opt for a Vertu or an Arte but this puppy definetly has its own market costing far less those phones.

Today we get to unbox a Samsung Armani,  a direct threat to LG’s Prada Phone which has enjoyed modest success.  This candy bar sized phone feels and looks very solid yet not heavy in one’s palm. Its dimensions are 87.5×54.5×10.5mm and weighs just 85 grams. It’s obvious that the craftsmanship is of a high caliber compared to many other phones we see today. The display, a 240×320 pixel 2.6 inch touch screen is surrounded by a metallic bezel and the back cover also has a matte metallic like finish. The Armani’s edges are coated in a non slippery plastic that blends well with the rest of the body.  The phone uses a 3.2 mega pixel camera which takes nice pictures. As for the touchscreen display, well its a nice display but mediocre for it simply lacks sensitivity.  The Samsung “croix” interface is aesthetically quite pleasing and navigating the menus is a speedy affair.  The fast launch menu, accessible by tapping the center of the screen, contains the following five options Calls, Messages, Contacts, Player and the Menu. The screen is bright and has good contrast. Overall I would say this is a good start by Samsung and were looking forward to their future designer offerings.

The new Apple Iphone 3G is the most sought after smartphone ever. The devices 3G wireless radio definetly speeds up data surfing (up to three times At&T’s Edge Network) and the 2.0 software has propelled this device into instant stardom.  The integrated GPS receiver is a welcome addition and talk quality has improved over the first generation Iphone. The new Iphone has the same width and length as its predecessor except it is .2-inch thicker with the same beautiful 3.5 inch screen. It’s curvier design actually makes it feel more comfortable in ones palm.  The switch from an all metal to a plastic casing has helped increase wifi and reception signals.

The Nokia 7900 PRISM with its unique design and stylish zigzagy pattern, really though, what else can you ask for? The famous Prism is a fashion phone. It’s body is covered in alot of metal, including an aluminium back cover and laser etched detailing. In case you were wondering it doesn’t weight a lot. Don’t let the purple colors confuse you, that’s all changeable. The configurable keypad backlighting is also worth noting as something no other phone can get you. The backlighting might not display the most accurate colors but you do not need to be perfect when you are the only one.

HTC P3700 Diamond™ EU version VS US version. 

Finally the bands.. 850/900/1800/1900 GSM and 3G 850/1900. I’d say that the main difference between the Diamond EU version and the US version is the size. Another big difference is that the US version is not “glossy” or “shiny” as the EU version, so no need to worry about the finger print marks left on the back panel of the phone. Take a look around the gallery that we posted, the Diamond to the right side - is the US version and one to the left is the - EU version. The HTC Touch Diamond™ signals a giant leap forward in combining hi-tech prowess with intuitive usability and exhilarating design The TouchFLO 3D is great, easy navigation, super-fast and a QWERTY keyboard just like the iPhone // Omnia. Also in my opinion the speakers are better then previous versions of HTC phones. Enjoy!

Here we have an HTC Touch “Ted Baker Needle” Special Edition. The HTC Touch, also known as the HTC P3450, is a Windows Mobile 6 based Pocket PC designed smartphone. It uses the proprietary TouchFlo interface that detects sweeping motions and can sense the difference between a figer and a stylus. One has access to a music player, photo album, video player, and a picture based contact book. Spec wise its a Tri band device with wifi 802.11 b/g, bluetooth 2.0, mini usb, 128mb flash rom, 64mb SDRAM, and has a microSD slot. Its got a 2.8 inch LCD screen (240×320) and a 2 megapixel camera. The purple edition makes this phone really stand out compared to the other HTC Touch colors that are available.

The Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte is one of if not the sleekest Nokia handset ever introduced. Its tactile surface is wrapped in a leather cover with saphire navigation key. You simply tap phone and an elegant clock instantly presents itself. If you turn the face downwards it will mute any incoming call or alarm.  Spec wise we jave a 2 inch OLED QVGA display, integrated 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus and an 8x digital zoom. It handles basic video recording and has a music player. We find the phone to be well designed and enjoyed the smooth slide action.  One would fit right in using this phone in Dubai.

Been waiting for this one for quite some time say hello the the Nokia N96, the flagship of Nokia’s N-series. The powerful Symbian-powered S60 smartphone features a 2.8 inch screen, push e-mail, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS, 16 GB of internal memory with an expandable memory slot.  Now is the N96 dual slider the worthwile successor to the Nokia N95 8gb well thats debatable.  Regardless, we enjoyed our time with this device.

Today we check out the sleek new Nokia E71-1 with the 3G 2100 MHz band. It supports GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth and USB. Dimensions are 114 x 57 x 10 mm, 66 cc and it weighs 127 grams. It packs a 3.15 megapixel camera and has a  full QWERTY keyboard which easily mobilizes a broad range of personal or professional messaging needs, including Microsoft Exchange. The Nokia E71 comes fully equipped for easy-to-install and easy-to-use professional and personal email. People who use Microsoft Exchange at work can access their email using the Mail for Exchange mobile email client, which comes pre-loaded with the Nokia E71-1.  Our only complaint is the keys are a little small otherwise this is one feature packed device.
